Nine/Eleven 5 years ago.

What did we learn from these events?

That we are not always prepared to ......
That people are full of sin .....
That still many people are very helpfull....
That life is short, sometimes much shorter than we thought....
That we are frightened easily....

Why did a movie about Bin Laden and these men that plotted 9/11 emerge now?

They want to spread fear.

Because fear is a very bad advisor. And when public opinion is reacting to this fear, discisionmakers that follow this public opinion make the wrong moves. In stead of dictating the rules, they act on the rules of their opponents. ( Read: terrorists. )

The question might be: How to be ahead of these terrorists in thinking, acting, behaviour?

Learn from the heroes of King David, 2 Samuel 23, Shammah the son of Agee the Hararit: "12 But he stationed himself in the middle of the field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. And the Lord brought about a great victory"

Station ourselves in the middle of the field: Are we prepared to defend what is ours?

Our culture, our democracy, our thinking, our way of living...... That will not be easy! But what is the alternative?

Or do we let our world go down in our bad habbits, sexual sin, addiction to wealth or drugs or..... No wonder that we are easily frightened. The heart of our living is not anymore knowledge and our strength, knowing who we are. But emotions are ruling our lives today.

Ask yourselve why complete empires collapsed?

One major reason is decadence. (A form of living according to one's emotions)

See the fall of the Roman Empire.

Is our western culture rapidly collapsing?

Are we seeing the end of the power of the US?

Hi Vloot,

P.S.: The Roman Empire did not collapse. It metamorphosed -- polytheistic (though more accurately called 'pantheistic'; Roman syncretism famously incorporated and tolerated conquered native gods) to monotheistic (Constantine, Justinian and the Theodosian decrees). When the capital moved to Byzantium (Constantinople/Istanbul), the lingua franca became koine Greek. The emblem of Byzantium was a polycephalous eagle -- a tradition that, like Greek (Cyrillic), washed slowly up the Caucasus to Russia. Christianity's existence today depends on two things: the defeat of Cleopatra's Egypt by Rome in 30 B.C., which cleared the road, and the accession of Constantine in the 5th century, which paved it.

By the way: Luke 14:26.

Alfonso,
I hope your religeon is based on the work and person of Jesus.
Christianity is still here until rapture. Nothing will overrule it.
